Grindelwald
The largest and prettiest resort in the Jungfrau ski area and over 850 years old with a 65 year old mountain railway which was the first of its kind. It’s perfect for beginners and intermediates looking to step up their skiing and enjoy some apres ski to go with it.
Skiing in Grindelworld
Grindelwald shares a ski area with Wengen, and has access to 213km of ski pistes. Skiing in Grindelwald is great for beginners and intermediates with 16 blue runs and 24 red. If you are a beginner there are some nursey slopes at Bodmi by the local ski school with 2 ski lifts. Intermediates will love it here with long 5 mile runs Oberjoch back home to Grindelwald. Eiger’s glacier is also very popular but can get busy.
Apres Ski in Grindelworld
Compared to the other Jungfrau ski resorts (Wengman and Mürren) Grindelwald is the liveliest with apres ski scene based around the hotels here. Head to Hotel Spinne which has a small Espresso Bar and is loud and friendly. Other popular haunts are the Gepsi Bar in Hotel Eiger, the C&M cafe, The Hotel Central Wolter (with outside tables and chairs). For nightclubs Mescalero (Hotel Spinne) and the Plaza (Hotel Sunstar) are the places to be.
