Use the links above to find your resorts but some of our favourite resorts near to Geneva.  For lively apres ski Megeve is perfect. As the 3rd largest town in France and one of the most famous ski resorts it has great skiing and the apres ski is brilliant.  For skiing it’s linked to Mont Blanc and is only one hour from Geneva, however is quite expensive.  Chamonix is equally as lively and well worth checking out.

Not everyone wants a lively resort, and if this is you then you’ll be pleased to know that Switzerland and France has lots of small pretty mountain villages.  Les Gets is a pretty chalet village part of the Portes du Soleil Ski Area near Morzine which is great for snowboarders.  Les Houches is at the foot of Mont Blanc and is a small traditional quiet village.

Bois d’Amont – good beginners resort but at low altitude (1050m) and 40km pistes.

Flaine – modern purpose built ski resort with 140km of pistes and good for intermediates and beginners.

Lelex – good for beginners with access to around 28km of skiing above 1500m.

Les Carroz – family resort popular with locals dating back to the 1930′s. Linked to the Grand Massif area with good snow.
