Avoriaz

Avoriaz is a car free resort at the top of Portes du Soleil above Morzine, and sits at around 2000m high up the mountain. Once used as a Tour de France route back in 2010 it’s a windy 30 minute trip up from Morzine. Skiing in Avoriaz is excellent, as you can ski from your chalet or hotel onto the slopes easily and can ski into France and Switzerland easily. On the slopes there’s lots of blues, reds and blacks to keep everybody happy too. In the resort centre there is restaurants, cafes and shops. Apres ski isn’t bad here with several happy hours going on. There’s one nightclub that opens late (from 12) which then fills up and last until the early hours.
